A Guide to Whistler's Cheap Eats
Whistler is a wonderful place to vacation, but as with any vacation, it can sometimes be very expensive. Visitors spend large amounts of cash on ski passes and hotel rooms and have little left over for eating out. Fortunately, if you are taking a ski vacation, you can get a good deal at the following Whistler restaurants:
Citta's Bistro
Year after year, Citta's is awarded the Best Patio prize in Pique Newsmagazine. It also consistently wins the distinctions of Best People Watching and Best Local Hangout. Of course, part of the appeal of the restaurant is that it offers a great atmosphere and tasty food for an amazingly low price. Visitors have the option of hanging out on the patio or in the bar, lounge or dining room.
Wild Wood Bistro and Bar
The readers of Pique Newsmagazine voted Wild Wood Bistro and Bar as an Overall Best Value among Whistler restaurants. The restaurant was formed in 2002 as a hangout “owned by locals for locals.” That doesn't mean that out-of-towners on ski vacation aren't welcome here. In fact, there is no better place to get a sense of the local scene than in Wild Wood Bistro and Bar.
21 Steps
You know that you're getting fresh food at 21 Steps, because every dish is made from scratch. The restaurant regularly has specials, such as three entrees for only $35. 21 Steps also conveniently has two separate meals: one for small plates and the other for big plates. This should accommodate those who can never get enough food and those who always have to bring half of the meal home to sit in the fridge.
White Spot
Whether you want to eat in the restaurant or grab take-out, you'll love the food at Whistler's “legendary restaurant.” The meals at White Spot range from pasta to rice bowls and stir fry. There is something on the menu to meet every taste, even for the pickiest eater. White Spot has great hours, and visitors can stop by for breakfast, lunch, dinner or dessert. For a real good time, head over to White Spot on Family Game Night.
Zog's
A Hot Dog stand located outside of the Sundial Boutique Hotel. Known for their hot dogs and their poutine. Enough said.
Whistler has some incredible dining options, but not all restaurants will charge you an arm and a leg. Try some of these options out on your next winter Whistler ski vacation. You won't be disappointed.
