Whistler, British Columbia is home to some of the most magnificent scenery in Canada. While known for being a ski resort town, from May to October, nestled in among the snow capped mountain peaks and plush greenery, lies a golfers dream. Three fabulous courses are located within the limits of Whistler, with a fourth course found 25 minutes north. Course designs by golfing greats Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer make for a truly magical golf experience. Golfing in Whistler is for every one of all abilities. The first of the courses to explore is the Whistler Golf Club. This course is a par 71, 18 hole course with spectacular scenery at every stop. Arnold Palmer chose this location to design his first Canadian golf course in 1983. Though predominantly a walking course, golf carts are available for rental. This course has gone through major renovation projects since its original opening to maintain its superiority. Renovations on a new practice facility, known as “The Range”, were completed in 2010. Whistler Golf Club also has a bar and grille, as well as banquet facilities, providing numerous opportunities for event planning and golf outings. Located right in the heart of Whistler Village, the course is a short walk from numerous places to stay in this beautiful community.

Nicklaus North Golf Course is a semi-private facility that opened in 1996. It is also a par 71 18 hole course surrounded by the natural beauty of this region. It has hosted many major events, including the Skins Game. It houses the Den Restaurant and Grille which features a lakeside patio. Frequent golfers may want to sign up for a GolfBC Loyalty card. Registration is free and allows its user to accumulate points for free golf or other rewards. Nicklaus North is one of nine participating courses.

The Fairmont Chateau Whistler, located adjacent to Blackcomb Mountain, offers a Golf for Free package. Free same day rounds of golf after the initial paid round are complimentary to those staying at the resort. This is an excellent package for the true golf enthusiast. Finally, the Big Sky Golf and Country Club offers the finest in golf packages BC.
