Whistler Mountain Bike Park, part of Whistler Blackcomb Ski Resort, offers downhill bicycling during their summer season. Located north of Vancouver, British Columbia, it is considered by many to be one of the top lift serviced downhill bike parks in the world due to their extensive trail system, state of the art facilities and gorgeous scenery. The bike park is open from May to October.
The bike park at Whistler Blackcomb Mountain uses two quad chair lifts and a gondola to transport riders and their bikes up the mountain. From there, cyclists have access to over 50 trails, covering over 250 kilometers. The trails are filled with natural and man-made features like rocky drop-offs, wooden berms and jumps.
Whistler Bike Park offers something for every activity and skill level. There are trails for beginners, featuring wide paths over gently sloped terrain, perfect for allowing gravity to do all the work and letting the rider enjoy the beautiful scenery. Those craving more adventure and adrenaline will be satisfied by the parks challenging trails featuring steep, gnarly terrain, narrow paths and large drop-offs. The color coded system for classifying trail difficulty is the same as for ski runs, which makes it easy to find trails best suited to each riders ability.
Whistler Bike Park offers rentals on side of both downhill bikes and valley bikes. There is also a retail and repair shop, conveniently offering everything a downhill enthusiast could need. Whistler Mountain's talented staff also offer lessons for any ability level, including children. There is even an option to explore the park with an expert guide, who will also help perfect the rider's technique.
Whistler Downhill Bike Park at Whistler Blackcomb Mountain is the perfect destination for anyone who enjoys the outdoors. From beginners nervous about their first time down the mountain to seasoned veterans, Whistler Downhill Bike Park offers excitement and fun for everybody.
